Genome of Orchid Species Mapped to Advance Molecular Breeding
Published:06 Sep.2018    Source:Asia-Pacific Biotech News

A quality reference genome and genetic map of the orchid Phalaenopsis aphrodite has been compiled by distinguished research fellow, Dr Ming-Che Shih and colleagues from the Agricultural Biotechnology Research Center in Taiwan.

The map helps provide new insights into the orchid genome architecture and will serve as a crucial resource for orchid breeding, orchid species conservation and comparative genomic studies.
